Soy Donatella, mujer Trans* y venezolana. Como a muchas otras personas me ha tocado emigrar, para tener una vida digna. Pero en mi caso también, para construir mi seguridad e integridad personal. Lamentablemente en Venezuela las personas LGBTQ+ no contamos con leyes que nos protejan, ni programas que eduquen a la comunidad y fomenten una cultura de respeto e igualdad. Antes me sentía obligada a callar y a vivir bajo sombras que me oprimían y me invisibilizaban. Por eso he dicho BASTA. Basta de tanta indiferencia. Es momento de comenzar a cambiar realidades.

Liebe Venezolaner*innen,
ich bin Donatella, eine trans* Frau und Venezolanerin. Wie viele andere Menschen musste ich auswandern, um ein menschenwürdiges Leben führen zu können. Aber in meinem Fall auch, um meine persönliche Sicherheit und Integrität aufzubauen. Leider gibt es in Venezuela für lsbtiq* Menschen weder Gesetze, die uns schützen, noch Programme, die die Gemeinschaft aufklären und eine Kultur des Respekts und der Gleichberechtigung fördern. Vorher fühlte ich mich gezwungen zu schweigen und im Schatten zu leben, der mich unterdrückte und unsichtbar machte. Deshalb habe ich GENUG gesagt. Genug von so viel Gleichgültigkeit. Es ist an der Zeit, die Realitäten zu ändern.

I am Donatella, a trans* woman and Venezuelan. Like many other people, I had to emigrate in order to live a dignified life. But in my case, also to build my personal security and integrity. Unfortunately for LGBTQ+ people in Venezuela, there are no laws to protect us, nor programmes to educate the community and promote a culture of respect and equality.
